We are very excited to announce CSPL’s second annual Congress for Spiritual and Public Leadership! We will build upon last year’s highly successful event as we gather for a deep exploration of community organizing tools and rich theological formation. Our three-day gathering will be taking place at Loyola University Chicago from Friday, June 7th to Sunday, June 9th 2024.
Your sponsorship donation will help to cover the costs for the lodging, materials, training and workshops, food and other expenses that each participant will receive during each of the 3 days.
The theme of the 2024 CSPL Congress is “Come to the Table.” Inspired by the global Synod in the Catholic Church, “Come to the Table” symbolizes our communion with God and one another, along with the need to form and deepen relationships with one another, strategize, break bread, and take action.
In community organizing, there is a common saying, “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.” This phrase cements the need for community members to stay engaged in the discipline of strategic planning, relationship building and campaign planning to effectively move decision-makers in public life. This is reflected in our organizing efforts to form regional tables that are member-led in Chicago and the Western Suburbs since the beginning of the fiscal year.
